OUR VISION
Did you know that Leopoldstadt is the little sister of the New York borough of Brooklyn? The district partnership between Brooklyn (2.7 million inhabitants) and Vienna‘s Leopoldstadt (105,237 inhabitants) was established in the year 2007. We believe more people should know about this. We want to encourage this relationship.
We have a vision.
We want to create space for the protagonists of the art and culture world of the two districts Leopoldstadt and Brooklyn and bring them closer together. We seek the exchange of these two habitats. We see parallels and want to show these parallels. The residents of the districts invite each other to their homeland to get to know each other better. A partnership like this should be promoted. That is why we founded the association “NO SLEEP TILL LEOPOLDSTADT – Association for the promotion of the district partnership between Leopoldstadt and Brooklyn“.
NO SLEEP TILL LEOPOLDSTADT was founded by two individuals who believed the partnership between the two cities should be supported. The association aims to promote the Leopoldstadt-Brooklyn district partnership that was founded in 2007.
The focus is divided into four pillars: art, culture, concerts and culinary. The goal is to offer an interdisciplinary range of art and culture with artists and interesting personalities from the two cities for the two cities. Reinforce the synergy to produce a sustainable cultural network.
