CALL FOR VISUAL ARTISTS
CONCEPT FOUNDATION
NO SLEEP TILL LEOPOLDSTADT was founded by two individuals who believed the partnership between the two cities should be supported. The association aims to promote the Leopoldstadt-Brooklyn district partnership that was founded in 2007.
The focus is divided into four pillars: art, culture, concerts and culinary. The goal is to offer an interdisciplinary range of art and culture with artists and interesting personalities from the two cities for the two cities. Reinforce the synergy to produce a sustainable cultural network.
DESCRIPTION
The Artist in Residence Programme is a project space of NO SLEEP TILL LEOPOLDSTADT. The program offers a space where Artists are invited to live and work, providing time for reflection and production over a period of 1 month in the flourishing setting of Vienna. The residency will help the artist to develop professionally and build networks as well as provide a supportive environment for research and production.

Duration - 4 Weeks (November 2022)
Location: Leopoldstadt, Vienna, Austria
Paid by association : Lodging, travel costs*, Studio, Event Venue for presentation of final piece. Materials needed for work and final exhibition tbd.
Paid by artist : (If necessary) visa, and insurance.

APPLICATION
Individuals may apply independently of age, origin, education and history of prior applications. Any form of expression that falls under visual Art is welcome.
The residents are selected under the members of NO SLEEP TILL LEOPOLDSTADT Advisory Board.
Recommendations of international artists for the programme from individuals, institutions, galleries, publishing companies and other bodies active in the art scene are welcome. A recommendation demands that a contact to the international artist is established beforehand in order to verify if the artist is interested and if s/he has the practical possibility to take part in the residency.
Interested artists should send an informative application, including CV and information about their artistic activities so far, stating the reason for their application and providing proof of eligibility (perhaps an artistic concept for their stay) as well as samples of their work to the foundation NO SLEEP TILL LEOPOLDSTADT.
